Hey!

Welcome to St Patrick’s National School’s Sixth Class Blog! We’re a school in Castleknock, Dublin.

This is our first brilliant year of TSI and we have really enjoyed it! We started doing TSI in late January. Before this, we revised the nine comprehension strategies which gave us a great insight into TSI itself and helped us understand the book better. We read two novels (The Guns of Easter by Gerard Whelan and Mr Stink by David Walliams). There are eight or nine groups. There are three or four children per group. If we had any difficulties, our teachers listened to us and they sent us emails of surveys so we could express our problems anonymously.

All of fifth and sixth class took part in TSI this year. That is about 180 students! Through such a successful and enjoyable pilot of TSI last year in fifth class, we have added TSI to our school. We are very disappointed that this is our last year doing TSI. It was a brilliant way to get a better look into comprehension and reading. In our opinions we think all classes should use TSI!
